If i have a board, for example, to help my write my next bestselling novel.
It would be great if i could create custom templates for the note cards, and just drag these on fully-formed.
For example, allow the user to create a note-card template that is:
“Begining: <?>
Middle: <?>
End: <?>”
…as a template, so that i can drag these on in a uniform way, and replace the “<?>” with the text i want to use for that card….
“Begining: Luke lives on a moisture farm, dreaming of being a pilot in the rebellion.
Middle: He met some old, beardy guy. who tought him magic stuff.
End: He defeats the bad guy”
Just being able to define a template would be a nice feature.
However, the really userful next-level would be to:
1) Prevent the user from changing the text the came from the template, in the card that utilizes the template. In the simple version, above, if you are just making a copy of the template, then the user will be able to modify the text that the template provided. By that, i mean on an individual card i could replace “Begining” with “Goldfish”, to that card no longer fits the style.
2) It would be most useful if the template could be updated, and this would propagate to existing cards derived from that template. i.e. if the template changes to:
“Start: <?>
Middle: <?>
End: <?>”
The card will update to:
“Start: Luke lives on a moisture farm, dreaming of being a pilot in the rebellion.
Middle: He met some old, beardy guy. who tought him magic stuff.
End: He defeats the bad guy”
I appreciate that these are more challenging.

This sounds like a feature that could be really powerful if designed and implemented delicately but runs the risk of being complicated and difficult to use.
I won’t cross it off yet as I think this could open up a lot of interestin opportunities but we probably won’t get on it anytime soon.
This will probably be looked at when we implement board templates!

Cool. Obviously users can just cut-and-paste thier own template code, currently, so it is not a show-stopper. I just think it might be a productivity improvement.
Currently, i have the same (tempate) content, or style, pasted in various cards, as they all have a different role in the plan. I’ve attached a screen grab for your reference..
It just makes sense to me that other users may use their board for thier own planning, and may also have different roles for the cards,
